Character occasionally breaks the fourth wall

Hello!

I've noticed lately that the fourth wall is being broken more and more often—and it's always the same:

*“(...) exactly as the reader would want it to be...”*

Has something changed? It's no big deal, but it does pull you out of the story. Thanks for the help.
