Minnesota Aurora women’s soccer team signs its first transgender player
When goalkeeper Isaac Ranson signed with Minnesota Aurora FC, he was hoping for a place to become a better goalkeeper, and a place to be accepted as himself.
Ranson, who was assigned female at birth, came out as a transgender man during his time as a standout keeper in college for the women’s soccer team at Cal State Fullerton. He will compete for the Aurora — the pre-professional community-owned women’s soccer team based out of Eagan — this summer.
