The exploitation of medical residents and healthcare workers in India.

Excessive working hours and denial of mandated rest breaches the Factories Act, Shops and Establishments Acts (state laws), and labour standards that prescribe limits and overtime pay.

Some residents never go home. Some stay for 3-4 days or more continuously working in hospital.

It is a systemic issue which needs to be resolved.
